603.4 Multicultural and Nonsexist Education

Students will have an equal opportunity for a quality education without discrimination, regardless of their race, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, socioeconomic status, disability, religion, or creed.

The education program is free of discrimination and will provide equal opportunity for the students. The education program will foster knowledge of and respect and appreciation for the historical and contemporary contributions of diverse cultural groups, as well as men and women, to society. Special emphasis is placed on persons of diverse cultures and persons with disabilities. It will also reflect the wide variety of roles open to both men and women and provide equal opportunity to both genders.

The board will adopt a written plan for the implementation of multicultural and gender fair education and will evaluate this plan at least every five years. During the evaluation process, the board will involve parents, students, employees and community members.
