Pursuant to SF 2231, the Iowa Department of Education was charged with developing a model policy that satisfies the requirements of SF 2231 passed in 2026: Sample Board Policy: Religious Expression. Please see the attached document for additional guidance.
SF 2231 further explains, when a school district adopts the DE's model policy, the district will be deemed to have satisfied all requirements of SF 2231 related to those topics.
